Recipe Ingredient

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large green apples (peeled, cored and sliced)
  • 2 tbsp brandy or Cognac
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of nutmeg


  1. In frying pan, melt the butter.
  2. Add sugar and stir until mixed.
  3. Add apples and stir until apples are coated with caramel.
  4. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Cook for three minutes.
  5. Serve hot with whipped cream, if desired.
