Recipe Ingredient

  • 1kg ripe papaya
  • 30g snow fungus, soaked for 1 hour
  • 60g almonds, soaked in hot water and skinned
  • 10g seedless red dates
  • 60g rock sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups water


  1. Peel, halve and remove seeds from papaya.
  2. Using a metal spoon, scoop out the flesh of the papaya.
  3. Combine the papaya flesh, fungus, almonds, red dates, rock sugar and water in a large owl.
  4. Steam over a slow fire for two hours.
  5. Serve hot.
