- 600g spareribs, chopped
- 400g winter melon, remove the skin and cut into sizeable pieces
- 1 small-sized dried cuttlefish, cleaned and cut into pieces
- 4 – 5 red dates, seeded
- 2 dried scallops
- 2 litres water
- Salt to taste
- Bring water to a boil. Add in spareribs, cuttlefish, dates and scallops. Bring to a boil.
- Put in winter melon and boil. Reduce heat once it has come to a boil. Simmer for 1-1½ hours until meat is tender and soup has the beautiful aroma of the cuttlefish. Season to taste.
