Recipe Ingredient

  • 150g margarine
  • 25g butter
  • 125g sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 100g chunky peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 egg white, lightly beaten
  • 50g groundnuts, toasted and shelled
  • 25g sesame seeds
  • Shift together:
  • 300g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt


  1. Preheat oven at 170°C. Lightly grease baking trays or line with nonstick parchment.
  2. Beat margarine and butter until creamy. Add in sugar and egg yolk. Continue to beat until light. Add in peanut butter and essence. Stir in sifted ingredients gradually to form a firm mixture.
  3. Roll mixture into small balls and place onto baking sheets. Press down with a fork. Brush cookies lightly with egg white. Add a groundnut and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  4. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer onto a wire rack to cool before storing in an airtight cookie jar.
